Recitals and Competitions
•Two Piano Recitals per year will be available to qualified students (Fall and Spring Recitals). These events provide pupils with further incentive to excel and have a positive effect on a student’s sense of accomplishment. Recitals build self-confidence and positive self-esteem. However, the students are not required to participate in both recitals.
•Students who have reached the necessary maturity, discipline and skill will have an opportunity to participate in the Madison/Clinton County Annual Competition. Bear in mind that these opportunities require a high level of determination and the ability to perform in a competitive arena with a high level of confidence. There will be an additional fee for the judges and the registration fee.
•One of the opportunities for our studio is annual field trips to the St. Louis Symphony Hall and the Jazz Festival at Missouri Botanical Garden in St. Louis ( Whitaker Festival).
•These concert opportunities not only introduce the students to the wondrous sounds of a live orchestra but also relate music to students’ personal experiences and to classroom curriculum. Students will come away from these concerts with an understanding of the importance of music in their lives and with an appreciation for many different sounds and styles of music. Who knows how many of these young audience members will become future music teachers, conductors, performers or appreciative audience members?
